Q: Does Profhilo actually work?
A: Profhilo’s effectiveness has been examined and proven in several clinic studies. Anecdotal reports found results to be noticeable and impactful to the tone and texture of the skin. Some patients report feeling as if they’ve finally discovered “that” skin care regimen that makes their skin glow at all hours of the day. The treatment does not provide the same results as botox or filler, so it won’t erase noticeable wrinkles, but it will make your skin look and feel alive again and has tremendous results when paired with other treatments.
Q: What is Profhilo, and what does it do?
A: Profhilo is a proprietary hyaluronic acid compound that uses a combination of high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. This compound enables a slowed release of the treatment into the epidermis, or top layer of your skin, as well as the dermis (layer below), providing continuous hydration. Additionally, the treatment stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, which our skin relies on to appear supple yet strong.
Q: Is Profhilo better than botox?
A: Profhilo and botox are different animals, so to speak, and function very differently from a medical perspective. Botox has many applications but is often used to prevent or minimise fine lines and wrinkles. Profhilo essentially functions as a super-charged injectable moisturiser that keeps your skin looking supple.
Q: How is Profhilo administered?
A: This treatment is injected directly into the dermis where it diffuses across the entirety of the targeted area, making Profhilo exponentially more effective than topical hyaluronic acid treatments. We highly recommend starting with a course of two treatments scheduled four to six weeks apart for visible results soon after your second treatment. The treatment should produce visible results for 6 to 9 months, and you should seek on-going treatment per your medical provider
Which is right for me? 2-course Profhilo or 3-course Profhilo?
Profhilo is a popular skin-boosting treatment that helps your skin stimulate elastin and collagen to enhance its tone, texture, and quality. Profhilo is typically a 2-course process, meaning that for results to reach their full potential, 2 treatments must be administered 4-5 weeks apart. Your skin will appear noticeably more radiant, supple, and taught approximately 3-4 weeks after your second treatment. For some patients, 3 Profhilo sessions spaced 4-5 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results. These patients are generally those who are more mature with fragile, aged skin or those with severely sun-damaged or dehydrated skin.
